I was searching for information about the use of the mind in mixing. I found this book that is very interesting and I think it can be useful to me. The title is "Mixing with your mind.pdf" by Rob Hallaway (jazz musician) (2000). The subtitle is "release, creativity, power". A million copies sold! I read the first chapter and found some valuable information for me in this topic. 1. What is the word "mix"? There are many explanations to this word, but the most common one is that the outcome of mixing is to produce a unified sound by combining several tracks or instruments together in order to make them work in harmony. The name of this genre is known as electronic dance music (EDM). 2. I think this book will be useful for me because it talks about creativity which I think is very important for me. I need creativity in my life when I mix because there are some ideas that are not always usable in my mind when I try to make them happen in reality. Here are some points that I found interesting when reading "Mixing with your mind. pdf" by Rob Hallaway (jazz musician) (2000). Have a look. 1. "The creative process is one of the most important reasons why musicians make music, but it cannot be forced." This statement is applicable to our generation because music has become a career for us. So, there are often some musicians who do not make music for their pleasure; they make it to make money and get fame. But the fact of making music out of pleasure is essential if we want to master this art and grow in it: we need to play with creativity and passion because only then we will be able to master this genre and give our soul to its depth. 2. "The creative process comes from within you. It has no set rules." Again, this is applicable to our generation because every musician has their own style and there are no rules for this fact. The only way they can learn how to do it is by experimenting with different styles of music. 3. "Be prepared to fail! If you don't give up, you will find new ways to create sounds that were never heard before." This statement is also applicable to our generation because we usually create something new by combining two different things together (genre, beat, rhythm). And the more we do it, the better we understand how to make something new and exciting out of these two things. 4. "Just like there are countless ways to make the same sound, there are endless ways to make music." This is also applicable to our generation because we usually use bass, drums, guitar and vocal. This is just one of them. There are many kinds of music that do not need any bass or guitar or vocal even if they are the main instruments. For example, piano music or violin can be created by using just keyboard or only violin instrument. 5. "The same thing happens in your mind when you try to create something new by combining two different things together. 97cfa1e7782047
